Montgomery County Public Schools will launch a new Transition Day on August 10 to help incoming pre-k, kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th grade, and Christiansburg Elementary School 3rd grade students prepare for the transition to a new school.

Transition Day will serve as the first day of school for these students. During the day, students will meet teachers and staff, learn about school procedures and expectations, become familiar with their new building, and have an opportunity to ask questions before the rest of the student body arrives.

Whether students are attending school for the first time, transitioning to middle school, beginning high school, or moving to Christiansburg Elementary School, the event is designed to help them feel more comfortable, confident, and prepared.

Transition Day activities will take place at each student's respective school. Families will receive additional information, including schedules and arrival details, from their schools in the coming weeks.

All MCPS schools will host open house on August 6. Please check with your school for its time.

Parent Portal is a program by Powerschool that gives parents access to their child's student information, including grades and attendance. If you do not have an account contact you child's school and ask for information on how to create an account.
