Meet the Counselor
My name is Anne Lawson and I am the school counselor at Montgomery Central. I have been the school counselor here since 2015. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in Spanish Education. After receiving my degree, I taught Spanish in Floyd County and then took some years off to stay home with my children. From my teaching experiences, I decided to pursue a degree that would allow me to help children become more successful students, work with them to help them effectively deal with a variety of problems and inspire them to do their personal best in their lives. I graduated from Radford University with a Masters in School Counseling and came to work as a school counselor in Montgomery County. At Montgomery Central we have a unique situation where we can meet our students exactly where they are and come up with a plan of success for each one. We work with NRVCS and NCG to try and foster a positive relationship between the school and the home and promote the academic, social and emotional growth of our students.
