About Montgomery Central

Montgomery Central's mission is to help at-risk students become successful at home, at school, and in the community.  The student community is comprised of 50 students in grades 8-12.  Students enjoy a more flexible environment because they pledge to accept additional responsibilities and meet high expectations.  The students who attend Montgomery Central commit to learning problem-solving, goal setting, and cooperative work skills.  Students also commit to improving academic performance and participating in school activities to improve self-confidence.  Montgomery Central's low teacher/student ratio, emphasis on personal responsibility, participation in academic and high-adventure field trips, and family-like atmosphere make such growth possible.

Due to the potential for inclement weather, the Teacher Interview Day is rescheduled for April 21. All candidates scheduled for an interview will be contacted via email about rescheduling their interview time.

MCPS Newsletter Reaching County Residents
This week Montgomery County residents were mailed the 2018 Spring Newsletter from Montgomery County Public Schools. The newsletter provides statistical information about MCPS and highlights of MCPS programs and initiatives. This is the first year that the newsletter was mailed directly to residents.

Kindergarten Registration Week Starts April 9
Montgomery County Public Schools will hold kindergarten registration between Monday, April 9, and Friday, April 13, 2018. Children who will turn five on or before September 30, 2018 should be registered at the elementary school in their attendance zone.

Statement of Inclusivity
School Board Adopts Statement of Inclusivity
The Montgomery County School Board adopted a Statement of Inclusivity at the meeting on February 6. The statement reaffirms the board's policies that celebrate the inclusiveness and diversity that contributes to the growth, success, safety, and quality of life for everyone at MCPS.
